Mrs. Rosenberg's class has had some behavior issues in the past, and this application is to provide another option of communicating issues. It includes a reporting bucket and a praise bucket for the students to use in class. One bucket is for reporting incidences. The students can write short notes, anonymously, to submit to the teacher. The bucket includes a problem solving wheel for the students to check before they make a report. They need to choose two before reporting. There are options, such as “ignore it”, “talk it out”, and “go to another activity”. There is also a chart that compares “tattling” to “reporting”. In order to prevent students from writing every minor grievance, the bucket, first, encourages students to attempt to solve their own problems. The praise bucket is for students to submit positive notes about themselves and others. There are examples around the bucket so that students will know They can be notes of encouragement and praise. They can also be about actions from/towards others, such as sharing, kinds words, or taking turns. This application is beneficial for students because it encourages independent choices/decisions, community, communication, and alternatives for problem solving. Additionally, since the students can submit the notes anonymously, they can feel safe in knowing that their concerns are known and they will not be penalized. The result from this application is to promote camaraderie between the students, and decrease hostility from tattling.
