Mrs. Rosenberg applies excellent classroom management into her classroom, and it shows in her students. However, if there is a dilemma between the students they have trouble expressing their feelings with one another appropriately. This application is meant to help with that issue. The PBIS bulletin board will be displayed in the hallway, so that the whole school can access it. The board has expectations for various scenarios, such as appropriate behavior for the cafeteria, classroom, and bus. Each scenario/expectation is paired with an acronym with desired behaviors. One acronym pairs with recess. The acronym, PLAY, stands for “play by the rules”, “listen to others”, “always keep hands and feet to yourself”, and “you need to be kind”. The board will be decorated with positive phrases and images to encourage the students. This application is beneficial for students because it provides them with positive reminders/prompts that encourage high expectations. To provide for learner variability, the board is a mix of visuals and writings. Additionally, it is motivating and provides options for independent choices. By sharing this bulletin board, it is expected that student behavior will improve in multiple learning environments.
